New Sources
There are many local news sources available. As already stated elsewhere in our page, your local tourist office is always the best first port of call. They have a wealth of information on much of the local news an events, attractions, excursions and can provide useful tourist maps of the areas.
Other useful sources of information are local magazines, papers and publications. Again look out for them at the tourist offices but you'll also find them in bus stations, cafes bars and restaurants. Most are published in English and feature good articles on the local upcoming events, fiestas and hold adverts and include discount vouchers for use with local businesses. They sometimes also have a directory of services inside and highlight local shopping centres.

Estepona has a series of local and traditional festivities providing you with a good look into Andalucian traditions and customs, and plenty of opportunity to join in the celebrations and enjoy Spanish culture. See the list of important dates and celebrations below.
Other local festivities include the day of Andalusia, February 28th, the day of Hispanidad and Pilar, October 12th, All Saints, November 1st, Day of the constitution, December 6th and the immaculate conception, December 8th.
Spain is known for its' fiestas and there is no shortage here in Andalucia, many national fiestas are also vibrant but local ones are normally more fun. None more so than the fiestas mayores a local fiesta to Estepona, every year in July the centre of town comes to life and parties by night and by day and features a large feria area. Also on 15th May, they celebrate the Patron Saint of the town of Estepona, San Isidro Labrador, this fiesta seems to blur into the days either side too!
