Estepona boasts some of the best beaches in the area. The water is clear and there are views of the rock of Gibraltar and (on a good day) the coastline of Africa.

Over 20 km of coastline there are 15 beaches from small, romantic coves to well-developed beaches and even a nudist beach. All are easily accessible and most have a lifeguard present together with many restaurants and bars close by. The most popular for families seems to be La Rada beach, located on the east side of the marina.

LA RADA BEACH IN ESTEPONA
Located in the town centre this beach is almost 3km long, with a promenade stretching the whole way - it's also a good width (25m). Traditional beach shack bars known as Chiringuitos are dotted up and down the beach itself, along with a whole host of restaurants offering a wide and varied selection of traditional seafood dishes and international cuisine. Why not try enjoy an authentic lunchtime Paella? This is really the city beach and is one of the only ones with golden sand. It's safe and pleasant with childrens play areas along the whole stretch.

EL CRISTO BEACH IN ESTEPONA
A little further from the centre of Estepona is El Cristo Beach. Located to the west of the marina, this charming cove is smaller stretching approx. 600m, and is a mix of sand and stone. As well as a fair amount of beach bars serving food and drinks it also has shaded car parking spaces. A popular beach with the locals, it is generally less crowded, except on weekends. Again, it is ideal for families with children. Lie back and listen to some live music played on the beach!

EL PADRON BEACH IN ESTEPONA
A stone's throw from the Kempinski Reosort Hotel, this beach is located to the east of Estepona. About 1 km long, it is a great place to sunbathe but getting there early to get a good spot is recommended since it becomes quite busy - especially during the summer months.

Other recommended beaches are the Playa de la Bajadilla and the Playa de Fontanilla.
